The Indian Society for Technical Education (ISTE) is a premier national, non-profit professional body registered under the Societies Registration Act of 1860. Originally established in 1941 as the Association of Principals of Technical Institutions (APTI), it was later transformed into ISTE in 1968 to broaden its mandate across the nation's technical education ecosystem.
ISTE is dedicated to the career development of educators, the holistic growth of students, and the continuous improvement of the technical education system.

The ISTE Tamil Nadu Chapter is one of the most dynamic regional chapters of ISTE, playing a key role in advancing technical education across Tamil Nadu and Puducherry.
